soulful serenity of films made by major directors in Latin America.

include his extremely well-calculated plans, extremely classic serenity,
and his "cold spark," a component that is impossible to describe.

Above all else, Semih Kaplanoğlu tells us about our century. Small touches
cast a light on the power of rural life, give voice to the desire to see-to
travel to-different places, and depict the relationships between
generations and, even, the place of women in society. He describes a
Turkey that is trying to live in two worlds-the traditional and the
modern.
